This Indian sweet dish is a treat any time of the year .... A cinch to make and a delight to eat, these tender melt-in-your-mouth morsels of milk and coconut coated in the coconut itself are a favorite with my family and friends. I hope you'll enjoy making and eating them as much as I do :)
Ingredients
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 1/2 cups plus 3/4 cup dry coconut powder
Instructions
- 1
Take a heavy bottomed pan and add the can of condensed milk to it. Cook this on low heat till the condensed milk becomes warm.

- 2
Then add the 2 1/2 cups of dry coconut powder and cook (stirring continuously) for another 5 minutes on low heat till the coconut softens and the mixture looks well combined.
- 3
Remove from heat. Apply water to your hands and using a tablespoon of the filling at a time, form into small rounds (about an inch in diameter). Take the rest of 3/4 cup coconut powder in a bowl and roll this round in the coconut powder.
- 4
Repeat for all the mixture.
- 5
Note: It is important to roll the laddoos in the coconut powder as you form the rounds so that the powder clings to the laddoos.
- 6
Makes about 25 laddoos .....
